Rina Mualem is an Israeli artist who studied with the artist Moty Mizrachi as well as the Israel Open University. Reproduction and lamination of composition are noticeable in her series of works called ‘The interior world of the external world of the interior world’. Here Mualem creates a multilayered plurality where contrast, chaos and reorganization of human situations dominate. She creates these scenes using imagery from thousands of photographs that she collects and then engraves.
Her creative process of the creation weaves imagery and coordinates, colors and lines into a toiling, crowded and sensual tapestry that magnetizes, reminiscent of feminists such as Aya Ben Ron and Keran Shfishler where creation is a Sisyphean process, evidence of the thousands of the hours that were invested.
